I like setting New Years resolutions as a way to focus on achieving things that are important to me. Last year I set a new years goal to lose five pounds by the end of the year. I failed but will try again this year. I seem to do better when it comes to setting financial goals. Last year I dropped my $50 per month health club membership in favor of walking and a new exercise routine that my doctor gave me that costs nothing. That is $600 a year I did not need to spend.
